Dwight Stephenson

Dwight Stephenson played his college ball at the University of Alabama where he played for the legendary Bear Bryant. He was an All American, and Bear Bryant was quoted as saying that Stephenson was the best player he ever coached regardless of position. He carried that into the 1980 draft, where he was selected in the second round 48th overall pick by the Miami Dolphins. When he got his chance to shine in 1981 he took full advantage of it, he took the starting job and never looked back. Stephenson became the offensive captain and anchored an offensive line that gave up the fewest sacks in the NFL for six consecutive seasons.

In his 7 NFL seasons Stephenson was named an All Pro five consecutive seasons and was a five time Pro Bowler. He started three AFC Championships and two Super Bowls. He is widely regarded as the greatest center to ever play the game. And in 1998 he was recognized as such when he was made the 7th modern era center to be elected into the Hall of Fame.
