Hi, what was your favorite holiday as a kid?
Anlgp: Christmas for the time spent over at my grandmother's house. I'm 26 and I've spent 26 Christmas's there. It's one time out of a few the whole family gets together and all are cheerful.
What position do you feel the Dolphins are the deepest at? Anlgp: Along the defensive line. In your free time, what are things you like to participate in? Anlgp: I'm an avid walker. When I walk to school it's a 5 mile walk, when I walk to the store it's a 2 mile walk. Sometimes I'll just walk my neighborhood to make up 5 miles. I also like to hike (climbed pilot mountain in NC)/Laurel Ridge (also in NC). I've been playing guitar for 13 years now and it's an on off frustrating relationship. At first you can't play at all, and then somewhere you notice that you can kind of put things together and then you plateau. But when you notice improvement again it's a great improvement. I'm trying to learn music theory when I have the time, and then the sky is the limit. What is your favorite all time Dolphins game that you have watched if you had to pick just one? Anlgp: The first wildcat game against the Patriots. I loved watching them get torched on the same play over and over and the fans leaving the stadium early was a priceless sight to behold. I really can't stand that team. Since you play guitar, what guitarists are an inspiration to your work? Anlgp: Jimmy Hendrix, David Gilmour (pink floyd), Jimmy Page (led zeppelin), Daniel Johns (silverchair), Robert Fripp (king crimson), Adam Jones (tool), Stevie Ray Vaughn, John Lennon/George Harrison (beatles), John Fruschiante (RHCP), Ani Difranco, Jerry Cantrell (Alice In Chains), Cat Stevens.. Kevin Griffin (Better Than Ezra) Lets say you were given the responsibility of being the Dolphins GM for one day, what moves would you make? Anlgp: Bring in a veteran quarterback, one who can still legitimately play and light a fire under Henne's ass. I'd do 11 on 11 drills for 6 days intermittently and whoever won more games gets the job. If there's a tie there's a tiebreaker game. That, and get something to take pressure off the defense since they seem to bail us out all the time. What is your fondest memory of your life so far? Anlgp: This is a difficult question for me to answer. I have fond memories it's just hard to pick a fondest. Graduating high school, moving into my own apartment, time with family, getting a 4.0 last semester in college. I think the fondest would probably have to be when I got my state medical card and started taking care of myself health wise. It makes me feel like a responsible adult and that's not something I grant myself the privilege of feeling for fear of becoming lazy. Who is the free agent you want the Dolphins to sign most this year? Anlgp: I'm honestly not sure. Last year as everyone knows we picked up impact players on both sides of the ball. Marshall & Dansby. While the debate can be argued about whether or not Marshall has lived up to his billing, it's hard to argue Dansby. I'd have to say a player on the offensive side of the ball. I feel like the defense is bailing the team out (thankfully they can) and I'd like to see us blow a team out sometime relatively soon. A veteran QB? A receiving TE? I'm not sure on position, really. I just feel like the offense is way behind the defense. What is your favorite food? Anlgp: Italian. I'd like to start learning how to use a wok as well. I love chinese food. If I could make my own it would be great. If you could attend any Dolphins game this year, which would you pick? Anlgp: vs. Philadelphia. What is the biggest prank you have ever pulled? Anlgp: My mom's house is on 4 acres of land. To the right of the house is a bunch of woods with (at least at the time) an abandoned house next door. At the time I think I was around 12 years old. Anyway, my cousin and I took my brother over there and told him the pool had ghosts in it. Initially, he didn't believe us but we kept pushing and he got scared like hell and ran his ass back through the woods. Yeah, that's the best I have... What do you think about Reggie Bush joining the Dolphins? Anlgp: He hasn't lived up to his draft slot. I think if he's used as he's supposed to be used and can stay in one piece then it's an alright signing. He wouldn't have been my choice, but if we can get him as a slot guy, and a wildcat sweep guy, and a return guy.. with some nice runs in there somewhere.. it's alright. What aspect do you like most about Dolphins forums? Anlgp: i've known a few people here for a couple of years and those that know me know i consider them good/great friends despite never having met them. online or offline i treat people like friends so long as I'm treated like such. What free agents out there do you want the Dolphins to chase? Anlgp: Still someone offensively after the moves we've made. I'm nervous with the tackles in the east. Between Wilfork, Haynesworth, Darius? (Bills guy) and whomever the Jets have.. the interior of our offensive line is going to take a pounding 6 games out of the year. We've got a rookie 1st round pick in the middle there somewhere, I just think depth would be nice.. if they get tired and our backups come in and the other guys in the east have a box full of instant pancakes "all you need to do is add dolphins linemen" then I've got a bit of an issue there. If not someone on the line.. a TE still would be nice. A nice big receiving one, should the 6'6'' guy we sign not pan out. What are your feelings on our QB situation? Anlgp: we currently have 4. I think the FO is just as confused about the QB situation as some of us are. There's obviously pro and anti henne, but the backups - Moore, O'Connell, Devlin.. I'm not sure they can push for a starting position. That said, I don't know much about evaluating QB's. I don't think the FO has much confidence in Henne long term and are maybe trying to send a message more along the lines of "we will bring someone in" rather than "we will replace you" this year. If Henne steps up and plays well then they've lost nothing. If he doesn't they have 3 other QBs who they can give a shot if they keep all of them. As an aside Devlin is a Delaware QB and as a native Delawarean I'd love to see him take us to the super bowl, but I've not seen him play much and from what I hear it's not all that great. What do you feel is a lost art in society today? Anlgp: social intimacy with our immediate neighbors. I know very little about my neighbors. For example, my neighbors next door are a family of 4. The father, Andre, the mother (name I don't know), a son (whose name I don't know) and a baby (whose name I also don't know).. or remember because I talk to them so infrequently. I know the mother gets up around 5am and Andre looks like he's some kind of custodial worker. I know he likes to watch fights because he invited me over to watch one night. I also know he likes football because he commented on my Dolphins hat one day, but which team I can't tell you if he ever told me. I've shot a bow and arrow with his kid. But it has taken 4 years of me living here to gather just that information. I don't know too much else about him, mainly his character. Who he actually is. And it's just as much my issue as it is his. How much should we know about our neighbors? I don't know about you, but I want to know more about them than just those basic details of their lives. But maybe I'm a bit paranoid of who I live next to, especially considering the close relativity of their house to mine. Any important predictions for the Dolphins this year? Anlgp: well, i don't think the offense will be as bad as i was thinking. i like what i've seen from game two. it was the panthers, but as they say the teams aren't too far apart from talent. except maybe the 1970 Bucs team who the coach wanted to execute. What is the most memorable vacation you have been on? Anlgp: Biltmore Estate in Ashville, North Carolina. Flash Round (10 word responses) Reggie Bush - hoping the injury thing about NO to MIA is true. ie. less injury The Beatles - amazing, memories of childhood The Kardashians - could care less Italian Food - love it Rex Ryan - loudmouth, great defensive mind Message Boards - been on them way too damn long, since '95. Cell Phones - for me a necessary evil. Pepsi - i'd rather have coke Sun Life Stadium - needs more people in it Dolphins jersey - i'd like a randy starks, vontae davis, or karlos dansby one. yeah hm.. dansby. |
