Ah I remember Webb and Simms on the left side. An impenetrable fortress in front of Marino's quick passing game. Then along came Jimmy Johnson and that was that, but it was good while it lasted.

But if the Patriots are so awesome they don't need to cheat, then why were they cheating in Week 1? ...nor is it what the NFL should be marketing to the young.

The more I think about it, the more I don't think we will let him go. Maybe. But even if we franchisee him and put off his replacement until next year (or take a late round project this year), it is one less hole to plug. I know we have 5 early picks in the draft, but the fact is, we still have so many needs (another safety maybe, 2 CB's with Smith probably leaving, probably another RB to help Miller and Gray, TE, WR, RDE pass rusher, etc. etc. etc.). Even with a great draft and a FA spalsh or 2, we still have holes to fill. While I am sold on letting Smith and as much as I am sad to see it, Bush go, I would not think of it as a desperate move to keep Jake around, hopefully for a cheaper deal in exchange for a little longer term security for him.

How bad do you want to be a Dolphin big fella?
