There is no doubt that with homefield on the line that this loss was detrimental for New England. However, is this the kind of loss that is going to ruin their season or will they rebound?
I think this game in some way or another is going to keep NE outa the superbowl. i also believe that this is the year that NE begins to get picked apart in FA. their coaching staff is already beginning to fall apart.
are we gonna finally witness the demise of the pats? ... and if so, how great is it that we helped start it!

I am desperately hoping Romeo Crennell lands a head job next year. That will mean both coordinators are gone from NE.
The Pats, however, should not be written off this year. They are still my pick to represnet the AFC. As a #2 seed, theyw ould need to travel to Pitt for the AFC Championship. My money will be on New England in that game.
A loss like that when combined with other factors (injuries, distraction regarding the loss of Weis, loss of homefield, etc.) COULD send a team into a downward spiral. The Patriots have often been a team that escapes by small margins, so it really would not take much to swing momentum the other way.
And do not underestimate the possible impact of losing the #1 seed. It's not just the loss of homefield, it's potentially how it impacts who you play in the divisional round of the playoffs. With all the injuries in the Patriots secondary, you have to believe they do NOT want to play the Colts in the divisional round, but that may be more likely now.
The Patriots have really got a huge game with the Jets this week that could completely change the playoff picture.

That is right the jets are playing well and the pats have won so long what will happen now they have been exposed. All i can say is thy did not sweep Miami this year no matter how bad our team is.

I found this interesting:
Outstanding in the Dolphins' win were performances by Feeley (15-25, 131 yards) and the Dolphins' defense (two sacks, four INTs). Feeley, who had been maligned early in the season, told me he was looking forward to proving he could thrive under adverse circumstances ? and adversity has been the norm for the Dolphins this season. He must have gained some respect tonight.
So a two-win team beats a 12-win team ? the largest win differential in NFL history.

The Pats are fine. We definitely knocked them down a little though...

That amazed me - no knocked down passes all year? Anyone who says it is 100% luck is wrong. It is a combination of a QB who knows how to find passing lanes plus O-lineman who can keep defensive lineman's hands down.

Certainly it's not 100% luck, but there is some luck involved with that kind of streak.
